A new program the college intended to soft launch in Spring 2017 required a collaboration between staff and faculty for targeting honor students. When I met with the committee words used to describe their new program were prestigious, advanced, disciplined, globally aware and researchers. The challenge was to create a graphic respective of the Alamo Colleges brand standards, while meeting the committee’s expectations.
In pitching the new graphic for the soft launch it was imperative to move fast and at the same time strategically. After researching French illuminated manuscript, Celtic braided lettering and German old-style book covers I created mockups that would best express the creative direction. Taking the strongest graphic to meet the program’s purpose, I implemented it in various, possible executions.
